Haiti photofile: Union tour sees the bitter fruits of international
exploitation
A GMB investigation last year in the Caribbean island
of Haiti has found multinationals including liqueur manufacturers
Cointreau and Grand Marnier making a respectable profit from far
from respectable working conditions in the factories and plantations
of the Western Hemisphere's poorest nation. GMB has joined campaigning
organisations including the London-based Haiti Support Network and
War on Want in efforts to support union organisation in Haiti. Health
and safety is a prominent concern.
