{"id":1114,"date":"2023-04-12T08:43:40","date_gmt":"2023-04-12T07:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hazards.org\/blacklistblog\/?p=1114"},"modified":"2023-04-12T08:43:40","modified_gmt":"2023-04-12T07:43:40","slug":"evidence-sought-in-independent-blacklisting-collusion-inquiry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hazards.org\/blacklistblog\/2023\/04\/12\/evidence-sought-in-independent-blacklisting-collusion-inquiry\/","title":{"rendered":"Evidence sought in independent blacklisting collusion inquiry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unite is stepping up its search for information into the possible collusion by trade union officials into the blacklisting of construction workers.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2022 Unite established an <a href=\"https:\/\/ibci.uk\/\">independent inquiry<\/a> into allegations that some union officials may have colluded with the blacklisting of construction workers.<\/p>\n<p>Workers were frequently denied work for raising safety concerns on site, with an illegal industry-financed blacklisting organisation, The Consulting Association, coordinating the list which included details on over 3,000 site workers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitetheunion.org\/news-events\/news\/2023\/april\/construction-blacklisting-evidence-sought-in-union-officials-collusion-inquiry\/\">Unite general secretary Sharon Graham<\/a> said: \u201cBlacklisting is a disgusting practice which ruins workers\u2019 lives.
