INTERNATIONAL WORKERS' MEMORIAL DAY

28 April commemorated for the first time in Brazil

In April 28th will be celebrated a special ceremony for the "International Day for Mourning and Celebration" with the theme Strengthen Prevention in FUNDACENTRO´s headquarter and regional offices.

Workers' Memorial Day will be observed in more than 100 countries.This year, for the first time in Brazil, a federal organisation, together with workers' and employers' representatives, have adopted the April 28th event. It is being coordinated by FUNDACENTRO´s President, Nilton Freitas.

Government, workers' and employers' representatives and associations are invited to participate. The federal government is going to be represented by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr. Jaques Wagner.There will be an unveiling of an international day memorial and a candle lighting ceremony. There will be a video with messages from researchers, workers, and others.
